Crowded metro platforms can become dangerous when passengers unintentionally cross restricted areas, especially near the yellow safety line. Our client needed a reliable, camera-based monitoring solution that could help prevent accidents by detecting unsafe movement before it escalated.
We designed and tested a complete sandbox prototype that accurately detects when individuals step into restricted zones—helping strengthen platform safety and supporting future large-scale deployment.
Understanding the Safety Challenge
Metro platforms are high-traffic environments where even a moment’s distraction can put passengers at risk. The client required:

The system continuously monitored the yellow-line area. When someone crossed into the danger zone, it detected the event instantly—supporting scenarios like:

- Overcrowded platform push-through

The detection layer is designed to integrate with future alert mechanisms, enabling metros to respond quickly to unsafe situations before they become incidents.
